What documents do I need to provide to register for GST?

Registering for Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India requires certain documents to be provided. In this blog post, we'll take a closer look at the documents that you need to provide to register for GST.

1.PAN Card

Permanent Account Number (PAN) card is mandatory for all businesses and individuals who wish to register for GST. PAN is a unique identification number issued by the Income Tax Department and is required for all tax-related activities.


2.Aadhaar Card

Aadhaar Card is mandatory for individuals who are registering for GST. Aadhaar is a unique identification number issued by the Government of India and is required for several government-related activities.


3.Proof of Business Registration

If your business is registered with any regulatory authority, such as the Registrar of Companies (RoC) or the Shops and Establishment Act, you need to provide proof of registration. This could include a certificate of incorporation or registration, partnership deed, or any other document issued by the regulatory authority.


4.Address Proof

You need to provide a proof of the business address, such as rent agreement, electricity bill, or property tax receipt. If the business is located in a commercial complex, you need to provide a copy of the NOC from the landlord.


5.Bank Account Details

You need to provide a copy of the bank statement or a cancelled cheque to verify the bank account details of the business.


6.Digital Signature

Digital Signature is required for all GST registrations. You need to provide a Class 2 or Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for the authorized signatory of the business.


7.Photograph

You need to provide a passport-sized photograph of the authorized signatory of the business.
